Ninja Tune XX
Ninja Tune is turning 20 this year. That’s a long time for a label this good. A label started by Coldcut, that has brought you The Herbaliser, The Cinematic Orchestra, DJ Food, DJ Vadim, Hexstatic, Kid Koala, Mr Scruff, Bonobo, Ty… and the list goes on. Its popularity also kept Solid Steel alive when the BBC decided in its wisdom to axe it from it’s Monday midnight slot on BBC London in favour of more talk radio almost 8 years ago. (Touchy point nowadays? It felt the same back then. I still have a minidisc recording of the show where they gave me a shout out - that felt good.)
Now Ninja Tune are giving you twenty downloads in the run up to their big two-oh. This week is their 2nd download (sorry, I was on holiday last week) and it’s a good one - a Big Dada mix. You’ve got to sign up for it, but do it because it’s worth it.
Whilst you’re at it get the XX spotify playlist in your ears now. Enjoy.
